Preparation
- Beat eggs and stir in the breadcrumbs, pickles, shallot, thyme, lemon zest, salt and pepper. Add in tuna and cheese and stir to combine.
- Form the mixture into four patties of equal size, with a thickness of about 1/2 inch (1 cm) each. Chill for 15 minutes.
- Heat oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the tuna patties without cluttering the pan. Cook for 3-5 minutes each side or until lightly browned. Place a slice of cheese on each patty. Cover the pan and remove from heat. Let stand for 2 minutes or until cheese has melted.
- Place patties on buns and garnish with pickles, lettuce, tomato and red onion (if used).
TIP:
- You can substitute any one of our Flavoured Tuna products in this burger.
- Prepare burgers the night before and cook at supper time; great time saver!
