Quinoa Tuna Cakes

Healthy and delicious all in one! Our Quinoa Tuna Cakes are perfect crispy bites. Serve them straight up with your favourite dip or between a bun.


1 can (170g) CLOVER LEAF® Solid White Albacore Tuna in Water, drained
¼ cup Quinoa
¼ cup Olive oil, divided
½ cup Onion, chopped
2 Garlic cloves, minced
2 Eggs
⅓ cup Breadcrumbs, gluten-free
1 tbsp Parsley, fresh, chopped
1 tsp Lemon zest
½ tsp Sea salt
¼ tsp Black pepper
1 tsp Parsley, chopped for garnish
1 Lemon, cut into wedges
Optional Dip:
¼ cup Tartar sauce


  1. Cook quinoa according to packing directions. Then let it cool.
  2. While quinoa is cooking, sauté onion and garlic in 2 tablespoons olive oil over medium-low heat for about 5 minutes until onions are translucent. Let this cool.
  3. Mix the cooled quinoa and cooled onion mixture with tuna, eggs, breadcrumbs, parsley, lemon zest, salt and pepper.
  4. Form into 2 tablespoon sized patties, about ½ inch thick.
  5. Heat up 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Place patties in the pan, leaving space between each one. Cook for 3-5 minutes until golden then flip. Cook 5 more minutes until golden on other side and internal temperature is 160-165°F.
