Middle Eastern Tuna & Hummus On Toasted Pita

This tangy and smooth Middle Eastern tuna-hummus appetizer is a real crowd pleaser, and is a favourite with kids, too.


2 cans (80 g each) Clover Leaf Flaked Light Tuna in Olive Oil & Chili Pepper tri-pack (or Flaked Light Tuna in Olive Oil tri-pack), drained & reserve oil from one can
1 cup hummus
2 whole wheat pita bread (6”)
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp chopped parsley


  1. Drain the olive oil from the Clover Leaf tuna cans and reserve oil from one can.
  2. Spread the hummus over top of the pita and crumble the tuna over it.
  3. Place into a 400F oven until lightly toasted.
  4. Quickly blend the drained olive oil, lemon juice & fresh parsley together. Drizzle the vinaigrette over the toasted pita topping.
  5. Cut into four quarters and serve immediately.

Reserve ½ tsp of parsley for garnish (optional).
