Spaghetti with Clams

A no fuss and lip-smacking pasta meal that the family will surely enjoy any night of the week.

Ingredients

2 cans (142 g ea.) Clover Leaf® Whole Baby Clams, drained
1 package (340 g) dry spaghetti
1 tbsp (15 mL) butter or margarine
1 large onion, finely chopped
1 large garlic clove, crushed
1 can (397 g) chopped tomatoes
1 tbsp (15 mL) tomato paste
- Salt and Pepper, to taste
1 tbsp (15 mL) chopped fresh basil (optional)

PREP INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Prepare pasta according to package directions.
  2. In medium skillet, melt butter/margarine and saute onion and garlic for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add tomatoes and tomato paste. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes until pulpy.
  4. Stir in clams and season with salt and pepper. Cook until heated through.
  5. Toss with pasta. Sprinkle with basil (if preferred) before serving.
