Pasta with Crab and Wild Mushroom Sauce

A simple one dish pasta sauce that cooks the same time as the pasta. Ideal for holiday entertaining.


3 cups (750 mL) rotini pasta
1 pkg (227 g) Clover Leaf Crab Delectables TM, Flake Style
1 tbsp (15 mL) olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 medium onion, chopped
8 oz (250 mL) mushrooms (white, cremini, shiitake), sliced
¾ cup (175 mL) dry white wine
1 1/2 cups (375 mL) cut green beans (fresh or frozen)
1/4 tsp (1 mL) each dried thyme leaves and salt
1/2 cup (125 mL) light sour cream
1 tbsp (15 mL) all purpose flour
grated Parmesan cheese (optional)


  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain.
  2. Meanwhile, heat oil over medium-high heat in large skillet. Sauté garlic, onion and mushrooms 5 minutes. Stir in crab, wine, beans, thyme and salt; bring to boil and simmer 2 minutes until beans are just tender.
  3. Mix sour cream and flour; add to skillet. Cook and stir until thickened. Spoon over hot pasta. Serve with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.


  • Use a variety of wild mushrooms for interesting flavour and texture. When using shiitake mushrooms, discard the woody stems.
