Sardine and Avocado Tostadas

Bring the taste of Mexico to your home with this simple yet exotic flavour adventure, all loaded on a crispy corn tortilla.

Ingredients

Avocado Salsa
1 cup (250 mL)
chopped tomatoes
1
small avocado, mashed
1/3 cup
chopped onion
2 tbsp (30 mL)
cilantro, chopped (optional)
1
fresh or canned jalapeno chili, chopped
salt and pepper to taste
Other ingredients:
6
corn tortillas
1 1/2 cup (350 mL)
shredded lettuce
1 1/2 (350 mL)
shredded Monterey Jack cheese
3 cans (106 g each)
Clover Leaf Brisling Sardines - Mediterranean Flavour
sour cream
cilantro, garnish

Preparation

  1. Avocado Salsa: Mix together tomatoes, avocado, onion, cilantro (optional) , jalapeño chili, salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Heat tortillas on racks in 250° oven for 4-5 minutes or until crisp.
  3. Layer lettuce, cheese and Avocado Salsa on each tortilla, dividing equally.
  4. Top with sardines and a dollop of sour cream. Garnish with cilantro.
