Health Canada & Food Company launch campaign on understanding nutrition facts

Clover Leaf Seafoods is proud to support the Nutrition Facts Education Campaign, a collaboration of Health Canada and Food & Consumer Products of Canada (FCPC).

The initiative is a broad-based campaign launched this month to help Canadians better understand and use the Nutrition Facts table (NFT), particularly the % Daily Value, on pre-packaged food to make informed food choices.

Clover Leaf Seafoods is one of 34 leading companies that have committed resources to this collaborative consumer education effort. The multi-faceted campaign will include on-package, in-store, national media (print, television, online) and an educational website ( The site contains a wealth of information including tips on how to effectively use the % Daily Value in conjunction with serving size information so consumers are better able to make food choices that are right for them.

Using the % Daily Value is a quick way for consumers to know if a packaged food contains a lot or a little of a nutrient. This information can help when choosing a food or deciding between products.

This is a great example of the shared responsibility between industry and government to enable Canadians to make healthier food selections.
