Asian Tuna Meatballs Ingredients

2 cans (85 g each) Clover Leaf Flaked Light Tuna - Tomato & Onion
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 chopped green onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 cup (125 mL) cooked rice, cold
2 tbsp (30 mL) fine breadcrumbs
2 tsp (10 mL) soy sauce
½ tsp (2 mL) sesame oil
zest of a lemon
1 tsp (5 mL) finely chopped fresh ginger
salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients.  Check the seasoning.  Shape into 1 inch (2.5 cm) balls.
  2. In a lightly oiled non-stick heated skillet, cook the tuna meatballs over medium heat, turning often, until completely browned.
  3. Serve with plum sauce for dipping.

Tip: For a truly Asian meal, serve with a blend of oriental green salad.
